Our mission at Lakeshore Orthodontics is to deliver personalized, compassionate care in a friendly, family-oriented setting where every patient feels valued and heard.

We believe that orthodontic treatment should be accessible, comfortable, and tailored to each individual's unique needs and lifestyle. Our commitment extends beyond creating beautiful smiles—we focus on building lasting relationships with our patients and their families.

Meet
Dr. Parete

Background & Education

Dr. Mark Parete was raised in Amherstburg and attended Villanova High School. The positive experience he encountered during his own orthodontic treatment set him on track to pursue a career as an Orthodontist.

He attended Wayne State University for his undergraduate education and then completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Detroit Mercy. Following graduation, he was selected to continue his specialty training in Orthodontics at Detroit Mercy, where he received both his Orthodontic Specialty Certificate and a Master of Science Degree.

Professional

In addition to private practice, Dr. Parete is a former Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Detroit Mercy and is Board Certified with the American Board of Orthodontics — an honour held by only 1 in 3 Orthodontists!

Personal

Having undergone a first phase of orthodontics as a child for an impacted (stuck) tooth, comprehensive braces as an adolescent to straighten his teeth, and orthognathic jaw surgery as an adult to correct his bite, Dr. Parete has had a first-hand experience of what it feels like to be the patient.

When he’s not at the office, Dr. Parete is passionate about traveling, nature, and is a Detroit enthusiast.

Dr. Abdallah

Background & Education

Dr. Mohamed-Nur Abdallah, affectionately referred to as Dr. Mo, is truly multicultural and multilingual with many interests. Originally half Jordanian and half Greek Cypriot, he is fluent in Greek and Arabic having grown up both in Cyprus and in Jordan.

Dr. Abdallah’s journey into Dentistry began at the University of Jordan where he obtained his dental degree and then he worked as a general dentist for a number of years to build his experience and a comprehensive knowledge. Always wanting to continue to learn and grow, he sought a new personal and professional challenge, trading the warmth and comfort of home for cold Canadian winters to advance his knowledge and clinical skills.

Dr. Abdallah completed his first Master of Science degree focused on Biomaterials as well as his PhD in Craniofacial Health Sciences at McGill University. He then completed a second Master of Science degree in a combined Orthodontic specialty program at the University of Toronto.

Professional

Dr. Abdallah is passionate about his patients as well as academia and research. He is an adjunct clinical associate professor of Orthodontics at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.

He has received numerous academic scholarships and awards including the Orthodontic & Craniofacial Clinical and Translational Research Award from International Association for Dental Research (IADR) as well as Graduate Excellence Awards in Dentistry and the Southern Ontario Surgical Orthodontic Study Club Award for the best clinical presentation. So far, he has authored and co-authored more than 35 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and 6 book chapters and has also filed 3 patents.

Personal

Outside the clinic, Dr. Abdallah is passionate about basketball and enjoys swimming and spending time with his lovely wife Mai and two sons – Zakaria and Sami.

Dr. Abdallah is excited to provide care for patients in English, Arabic and Greek while getting to know the greater Windsor community as he and his family plant their roots.
